220 kV OHL Stringing (Jahloot – Misfah)

Client: OETC
Main Contractor: L&T Oman
Scope of Work: Stringing Completed

Project Overview

This project involved stringing works for the 220 kV overhead transmission line between Jahloot and Misfah, one of Oman’s critical transmission corridors. The line plays a vital role in strengthening the national grid and ensuring reliable power flow to key regions.

Scope of Work

  • Conducting precise stringing operations on pre-erected towers.

  • Ensuring sagging and tensioning met OETC safety and quality standards.

  • Deploying advanced stringing equipment such as tensioner-pullers and winches.

  • Maintaining safe clearances from existing infrastructure and live lines.

Challenges & Solutions

  • Terrain Variation: The route crossed uneven and rocky landscapes. We employed specialized stringing techniques to maintain consistency.

  • Safety: Operations were carried out with strict compliance to OETC regulations, minimizing risks in live grid areas.

  • Efficiency: Coordination with the main contractor (L&T Oman) ensured timely execution within project deadlines.

Outcome

The project was successfully completed, delivering a stable and reliable 220 kV transmission line that enhanced grid capacity and supported Oman’s growing power demands. The work further solidified Powerway Enterprises LLC’s reputation for precision in high-voltage stringing works.
