The project undertaken by PWE was a 132 KV Tower Re-routing task in the Wadi Adhi area of Muscat for the client OETC. This project was notably significant as PWE acted as the main contractor itself, not a subcontractor, demonstrating the client’s high level of trust in their capabilities. The core activity involved altering the path of an existing high-voltage transmission line, a complex operation requiring meticulous planning. The work likely necessitated the careful de-energization and grounding of the line to ensure absolute safety for the workforce and the public. It involved the dismantling of existing towers and the erection of new ones along a newly planned route. Stringing and tensioning of the 132 KV conductors had to be performed to precise technical standards. All construction and safety protocols were strictly adhered to as per OETC’s stringent standards. This project showcases PWE’s expertise in managing intricate grid modification work from start to finish. Successfully completing such a project enhances their reputation for handling independent, turnkey contracts. Ultimately, this re-routing would have been conducted to improve the line’s efficiency, safety, or to make way for urban development.
