PWE was contracted to work on a significant renewable energy initiative, the Dhofar 50MW Wind Farm. This project was commissioned by MASDAR, a global leader in renewable energy development. The main construction contractor for this large-scale endeavor was the Spanish engineering firm, TSK. PWE’s specific scope of work focused on a critical part of the project’s electrical infrastructure. Their task was to erect and string the 132 KV overhead transmission line (OHL). This line was designated to run from the wind farm site in Fitkhit to the grid connection point in Thumrait. This work was essential for evacuating the clean electricity generated by the wind turbines and integrating it into Oman’s national grid. By executing the erection and stringing, PWE demonstrated its capability to contribute to modern, sustainable energy projects. The company successfully applied its expertise in high-voltage transmission to this landmark wind power development. This project highlights PWE’s important role in supporting the Sultanate’s energy diversification and sustainability goals.
