400 kV OHL Access Road, Foundation, Erection & Stringing (Rustaq – Ibri)

The project executed by PWE was a comprehensive 400 KV Overhead Transmission Line project for the Rustaq to Ibri section. The client for this major infrastructure upgrade was Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC), and the main contractor was BEC. This project was significant as it involved a full turnkey scope of work, showcasing PWE’s extensive capabilities. Their responsibilities began with constructing access roads to the remote tower locations as per OETC standards. Following this, PWE performed the critical tower foundation work, ensuring a stable base for the high-voltage line. The next phase involved the precise erection of the massive transmission towers across the terrain. Finally, the team carried out the stringing of the high-tension conductors using specialized tensioner-puller machines. This end-to-end execution demonstrates PWE’s ability to manage all facets of a complex high-voltage transmission project. Successfully delivering such a project for a key client like OETC solidified PWE’s reputation as a capable and reliable service provider in Oman’s power sector. Ultimately, this project contributed to enhancing the capacity and reliability of the national grid.
